Foucault states that when we cannot see power we cannot resist it, he references this through displayed forms of punishment in medieval times versus the modern prison system locked behind closed doors. But now one lives in an era of 24-hour news on television, and access to nearly all at the lift of a finger. We are in a state of being informed while also misinformed, but with that challenging relationship, there are still glimpses into what has always been locked away and hidden from the public. Because of this exposure society can no longer be negligent, even from the safety of their newly defensive home.
